Apostle, Paul: Execution -- Within rocky landscape, soldier, wearing armor and helmet, and holding bloodied sword with right hand upturned against left shoulder, is flanked by Nero (?) seated on throne, hand extended pointing to right, and by headless body of Paul, kneeling, hands outstretched, his head, eyes closed, lying on ground. Behind Paul is group of soldiers, wearing armor and helmets and carrying round shields.
Scene against blue background within initial decorated with foliate extenders. Border of floreate ornament and fantastic animals and birds.
