Man, wearing cap, standing in initial I decorated with foliate extenders.
Three-quarter figure of man holding book in draped left hand, within initial A decorated with foliate extenders.
Temple of Zerubbabel: Building -- In lower half, Cyrus the Great, crowned, stands beneath arch and flanked by columns. With his right hand, he indicates man in upper half, standing beneath arch, reaching up with float (?) in right hand and holding trowel with left hand over basin.
Scene within initial decorated with architectural ornament.
Margin:
Gold balls, and vine decorated with balls and foliate ornament terminating in foliate medallion enclosing owl.
