Virgin Mary: as Intercessor -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, with joined hands raised, kneels before Christ, crossed nimbus, seated within cloud edged mandorla, holding three spears in right hand, lifting left hand. At right stand Dominic of Bologna, name inscribed DOM(INIC)U(S), tonsured, with joined hands, wearing monk's habit with cowl and Francis of Assisi, name inscribed FRANCISC(US), tonsured, with joined hands, and bare feet, wearing short monk's habit with cowl.
Caption, MARIA MEDIATRIX N(OST)RA PLACAT IRA(M) DEI CONTRA NOS, is inscribed above scene.
Right column:
Abigail: going to David -- Abigail, raising right hand, kneels before David, holding spear with right hand and shield with left, wearing armor and helmet surmounted by crest composed of heads of animal, bird (?) and man wearing miter. Behind him stand crowd of soldiers, three holding shields, four holding bannered spears, one raising right arm, most only heads or helmets visible.
