Two scenes within miniature:
1) Evangelist John, nimbed, holding cup with winged serpent, stands beside draped altar within church. Altar is surmounted by retable depicting God the Father, nimbed, wearing triple-crowned tiara, seated, holding crucifix, above which is dove (Trinity).
To side of altar is patterned hanging, beyond which is bishop, wearing vestments and miter and holding crozier.
2) To right, outside of church, Evangelist John (represented twice), nimbed, hands joined, enters gate (Latin Gate?). With him is male figure, wearing hat, holding unidentified instrument in left hand.
