Christ: before Pilate -- Within large hall, Pilate, seated on canopied throne, wearing hat, extends left hand toward Christ, rayed cross as nimbus, hands bound, led by soldier, in armor, with sword in scabbard. Behind Christ, a second soldier, in armor, with sword in scabbard, places left hand on His shoulder. Second soldier stands before third soldier, holding spear and shield. Crowd of soldiers, holding spears, fills hall.
