Virgin Mary: as Intercessor --Virgin Mary, inscribed MARIA, nimbed, with joined or raised hands kneels next to scroll inscribed FILI ... MISERICORDIAM ET TUAM IUSTICIAM ... TEMPERA. She looks up toward bust of God, crossed nimbus, appearing amid rays in rayed cloud-edged arc of Heaven, raising three arrows in right hand. Scroll descending from God is inscribed MU(N)D(US) T(RI)B(US) UIRIIS PLEN(US) E(ST) ET IDEO IP(SU)M T(RI)B(US) LA(N)CAS ... Below right stand Dominic of Bologna, inscribed DO(M)INICUS, nimbed and tonsured, indicating scroll with right hand, wearing habit of Dominican, and Francis of Assisi, name inscribed FRANCISC(US), tonsured, wearing habit of Franciscan with knotted cincture, showing stigmata (wounds) in side, hand and foot.Right column:
