Initial:
Maccabees: Letter from Jews -- Man, seated, raising left hand, extends right hand holding scroll also held by left hand of another man standing before him.
Scene within initial F decorated with foliate ornament and with foliate extenders.
Margin:
In lower margin, man holding basket with right hand and picking fruit tree with left hand. Gold balls, and vine decorated with balls and foliate ornament terminating in foliate medallion enclosing fish.
Beginning of II Maccabees.
