Man, kneeling on pillow, looking and indicating, with right hand, upward, at initial I. Margins decorated with floreate ornament and gold balls; in upper margin, monk, tonsured, left hand to head, wearing pink habit, seated, back-turned. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn, for Matins on Tuesday in first week of Lent.
