Confessio Amantis: Scene, Tarquinius Priscus of Rome sending Message to Aruns and Scene, Aruns beheading Princes of Gabie -- Tarquinius, crowned, wearing robe lined with vair, holding stick with left hand and raising right hand toward lilies. Man, raising right hand, holding hat with left hand, kneeling on one knee, looks up toward Tarquinius. At right, man, probably Aruns, wearing tall brimless hat and tunic, raising both hands, stands amid heads and headless bodies; executioner raises scimitar with right hand.
