Jean Froissart: Chroniques, Book I, Chapter 137 -- English and Scottish soldiers, wearing full armor, some holding bows and arrows, others with spears, engage in battle outside city walls of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Two soldiers are fallen to ground, wounded. Queen Philippa, crowned, mounted, and second female figure, mounted, enter city gates.
Text describes battle of Newcastle-upon-Tyne on October 17, 1346, between the English and the Scots.
