Evangelist Mark, nimbed, writes with pen in right hand in open book in left hand, and sits on cushioned architectural bench with feet on footstool, between another pen in inkhorn and lectern, within architectural frame of two columns with foliate capitals. Above in pediment, winged lion, nimbed, as Symbol, holds scroll, inscribed MARCUS, in its forepaws.
