Virgin Mary: Death -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, hands crossed, head on pillow, lies on bed with canopy covered in patterned fabric. Behind bed, angel closes the Virgin's eye with right hand and touches mouth with left hand. Christ, cross-nimbed, raises right hand in blessing and holds soul of the Virgin, nimbed, in left hand. Apostles, nimbed, surround bed, some seated, some standing, some holding open books, Apostle Peter beside Christ.
