Innocents: Massacre -- Herod the Great, crowned, wearing gloves, sits with his legs crossed on bench, holds sword in his left hand, and points with right hand toward soldier, wearing helmet and mail under surcoat, with sword stabbing nude youth. Behind them, mother kneels with joined hands raised toward King Herod.
Scene with gold background, within decorated initial D embellished with filigree in spandrels. Margins decorated with foliate extensions, and inhabited by dog and running stag in the lower margin.
