Christ: Entry into Jerusalem -- In arched city gate of Jerusalem, two men, one raising hand to hat, stand behind two other men, one bearded, both spreading garments beneath hooves of ass, on which is mounted Christ, cross-nimbed with rays, wearing long purple robe, raising right hand in blessing, followed by eleven men, possibly including Evangelist John and Apostle Peter. Above in arched windows and in tree, among five men, three throw floreate branches toward Christ. Scene in landscape with castle, city on distant shore, and ship on water in background. Framed text block of 15 lines is suspended from tree branch over arbor and path on which walks two male figures, possibly the pilgrims from the poem, in foreground. Trees and foliage forming arch over scene; miniature within architectural frame.
