Initial:
Christ: bearing Cross -- Within initial D, half-figure of Christ, crossed nimbus, carries cross on right shoulder; bust of Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, mouth open, is behind Him.
Margins:
1) Medallion enclosing three nails bound with cord.
2) Medallion enclosing half-figure of Evangelist John, nimbed with joined hands.
3) Christ: of Sorrows -- Medallion enclosing Christ, crossed nimbus, arms extended showing wounds in hands and side; cross is behind Him. Medallion is flanked by two putti holding Instruments of Passion, including spear and sponge on reed.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament inhabited by winged putti heads; confronted putti; masks, some winged, some with horns; camaïeu masks and fish; putto holding garlands; torches.
