Margins decorated with floreate ornamentknots, and gold balls; monk, tonsured, wearing pink and blue habit, raising left hand, and looking, toward second lesson. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins, Wednesday in first week of Lent.
