Hybrid bird, holding book with left hand enclosed in initial S. Head of the bird extends into center margin, pecking head of man, right hand raised, Margins decorated with floreate ornament, knots and gold balls. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on second Sunday of Lent.
