Border composed of bands of foliate ornament, inhabited by numerous grotesques, including hybrid women, wearing veils and wimples, hybrid men, and hybrid animals, all in pairs flanking medallions or quatrefoils. In lower margin, flanked by hybrids, are three escutcheons with arms of Tiptoft (argent a saltire engrailed gules), Clavering (quarterly argent and gules a bend sable) and unidentified (argent a saltire engrailed sable).
