Margin, left: Christ: Presentation -- Heads of two men, including Joseph the Carpenter, behind female attendant, all accompanying Virgin Mary, nimbed, extending hands to nude Christ Child, cross-nimbed, hands extended over altar draped with cross-inscribed cloth, His genitals touched by knife held in left hand of Simeon of Jerusalem, wearing high priest’s hat, accompanied by one man. Scene room with three arched windows and tiled floor. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by two angels flanking scene, with joined hands raised (left); and half figures of two men, one wearing hat, both gesturing (upper and lower left); and bust of bearded man, amid foliage (lower).
