Angel, nimbed, gesturing, stands behind William Porter, wearing fur-lined mantle and gold collar, kneeling on cushion with joined hands raised before draped prie-dieu with book with pseudo-inscription (text begins PATER DE ....) and escutcheon with arms of William Porter (sable three bells argent). Scroll inscribed OMNES SCANTI ET SCANTE PRO ME SEMPER ORATE (sic) to right of face of William Porter.
Margins with foliate and ivy-rinceaux ornament. In lower margin amid vinescroll is vase with flowers.
