1) Man emerging from foliage enclosed in initial I.
2) Moses: Death -- Moses, nimbed, eyes closed, reclines under drape. Man standing next to him with hands extended, looks toward half figure of Christ-Logos, decorated crossed nimbus, right hand raised in blessing, emerging from top of initial.
Scene within initial E decorated with foliate ornament and with foliate extender.
Margins:
Foliate bar surmounted by figure evolving from foliage, wearing foliate hat, raising right hand, looking toward initial E. Bar terminates in foliate medallion enclosing hybrid man with animal body and human feet.
Beginning of Joshua, Prologue II and of Joshua.
