Christ: Circumcision -- Beneath canopy, Virgin Mary, wearing wimpled turban, holding nude Christ Child, nimbus as rays, on draped pedestal altar, His genitals grasped by left hand of High Priest Simeon, wearing turban, with right hand holding knife, all surrounded by Joseph the Carpenter, holding open vessel, and possibly head of Prophetess Anna, wearing turban, and another male attendant, wearing draped headgear; in church interior. Margins decorated with borders of strewn flowers, including thistle, viola, and pink, and inhabited by moth. Miniature facing the beginning of Sext in Hours of the Virgin.
