Naomi and Elimelech: in Moab (?) -- In upper register of initial I, Elimelech (?), wearing hat, holding walking stick with right hand, standing below arch topped by crenellated wall. Below, Naomi (?), wearing berbette, holding staff or sword with right hand, raising left hand, standing below arch looking upward. Initial decorated with foliate ornament; fantastic animal, mouth open, as base of initial. Beginning of Ruth.
