1) Joshua: God's Charge -- Within upper register of initial E, Christ-Logos, cross-nimbed, flanked by two trees, points towards Joshua, wearing hat, raising right hand and holding book in left hand. Beside him are two trees. Figures are framed by two trefoil arches.
2) Joshua: crossing Jordan -- Below, group of Israelites, wearing caps, are led by Joshua, nimbed, across Jordan, represented by divided waters. He grasps arm of first Israelite and carries staff in right hand.
