Virgin Mary and Christ Child -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, seated with feet on cushion on canopied throne, holds branch of roses in left hand. Seated in her lap and also holding the roses is Christ Child, nimbed, wearing wreath of roses placed on his head by angel, nimbed, standing to left of the throne. A second angel, nimbed, sits on ground at right and plays portative organ. Scene before low wall on which is topiary in urn. Rays emanate from top of arch of miniature.
Margins with foliate and ivy-rinceaux ornament. In right margin is escutcheon with arms of William Porter (sable three bells argent).
