Left column:
1) Joseph the Carpenter: Dream II and Christ: Flight into Egypt --At left, Joseph, inscribed IOSEPH, wearing hat, eyes shut, leaning head on right hand, is seated, holding crutch with left hand. Above, hovering angel holds scroll inscribed S(UR)GE (ET) ACCIPE PUE(RUM) ET M(AT)REM EI(US) (ET) FUGE IN EGIPTU(M) (ET) ESTO IBI (EST) (Matthew 2:13, variant). At right, Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, holds with both hands, swaddled Christ Child, crossed nimbus, her face touching His. She is seated on back of bridled ass. Joseph the Carpenter, inscribed IOSEPH, wearing hat, carrying on left shoulder draped crutch, walks at head of the ass, grasping rope of bridle with right hand, and looks back at Mary and Christ Child.Right column:
