Within architectural setting divided into two scenes:
1) Alexius of Rome: renouncing Wife -- Within room, Alexius of Rome, nimbed, and wife join hands. Both are seated in front of patterned hanging at table with platter of meats, loaves, cups and other utensils. Two servants appear on opposite side of table, one pouring from pitcher into bowl held by the other. Beside them is dog.
Room furnished with draped credenza on which are several pitchers and other vessels.
2) Alexius of Rome: Death-- Within second room, Alexius, nimbed, deceased, is on bed surrounded by several figures, including woman seated in chair beside bed and Innocent I, wearing papal vestments and triple-crowned tiara. Innocent, right hand raised in blessing, takes sealed letter from hand of Alexius.
