Miniature, upper left: 1) Christ: Last Judgment, Fifteen Signs (Fifteenth Sign) -- Beneath cloud, four nude men and three nude woman, all with joined hands raised, stand upright in graves (duplicate image of miniature on fol. 51v, upper right). Miniature, lower left: 2) Antichrist: Scene, Preaching-- Antichrist extends his hands toward crowd of three women and two men, two women wearing veils, and two men wearing hats, the foremost two partly kneel or sit, the man with his joined hands raised. Miniature, upper right: 3) Antichrist: Miracle -- Antichrist extends hands toward group of two women, one wearing veil, and two men, one bearded, holding book under left arm. Miniature, lower right: 4) Antichrist: distributing Gifts -- Antichrist extends hands to vessel extended in hands of bearded man wearing hat; among two other men in foreground, one hold several small round objects, possibly coins, in his hands. Miniatures are proofs for Bernhart Richel’s Spiegel der Menschlichen Behältnis (Basel: 1476) with biblical quotes, commentary and abbreviated extracts, written in German, for the Fifteenth Sign of the Last Judgment and scenes for the Antichrist.
