Among group of confessors are: Gregory the Great, wearing cross surmounted triple-crowned tiara and vestments inscribed with pseudo-inscriptions, raising gloved, right hand in blessing and holding papal cross in left hand; Jerome, wearing cardinal's hat and vestments; Anthony of Padua, wearing Franciscan habit, supporting himself with staff held in right hand and holding open book and bell in left hand; two monks, one wearing black habit and the other a white habit; and Augustine of Hippo, wearing bishop's miter and vestment, raising right hand in blessing and holding crozier in left hand. All figures are nimbed.
Scene framed by illusionistic wood frame. Lower border inscribed in display script DEVS OVI OM(NIA) SANTORVM (sic) CONFESSORVM.
