Creation Scene -- On grassy disc of earth with plants and trees, golden Christ-Logos, cross-nimbed, orant, from head emits rays toward six flying angels (two red, two gold), and stands above half-figure of Eve, with joined hands raised, issuing from left side of Adam, eyes closed, reclining on ground, resting head on right hand, both nude (Eve: Creation). The Christ-Logos is flanked above by Sun and Personification of Moon, both emitting rays, and below by two groups of birds and animals. To left, are flock of sixteen flying or resting birds including dove, crane, cock, duck, hawks and peacocks. To right, are group of seven animals including horse, stag, ox, possibly dog, rabbit and lion. In foreground, six fish swim in river. Scene surrounded by starry and cloudy night sky. Miniature within pink and gold frame. Below miniature: Initial D inhabited by half-figure of author Aldobrandino da Siena, wearing cap and red ermine-trimmed garments of physician, raising right forefinger, behind decorated lectern, in landscape beneath starry night sky.
