Beginning of Ruth.
Naomi and Elimelech: in Moab -- In upper portion of decorated initial I is Naomi, veiled; man, wearing hat, with right hand raised; and two children, with hands raised.
Ruth: Marriage with Boaz -- In middle portion of decorated initial I are Boaz and Ruth, veiled, both seated, with his right hand holding her right hand.
Ruth: threshing Grain -- In lower portion of decorated intial I is Ruth, veiled, threshing grain.
In lower margin is fantastic animal, half-figure of man playing fiddle, and bird.
In right margin is mother, kneeling on ground, holding child in her arms.
