David: communicating with God -- David, crowned, stands with joined hands, glancing up toward Christ-Logos, cross-nimbed, emerging from cloud. At top of city wall, two soldiers, wearing mail, shoot with bows and arrows at soldier, wearing helmet, ailettes, and mail and armed with lance and shield, mounted on bridled white horse, emerging from the city gate .
Scene against gold punched diapered background, within initial D deocrated with foliage. Marginal extensions of foliage.
