Roman de la Rose: Scene, Lover pierced by Arrow of God of Love -- God of Love (Eros), crowned, winged, lower leg decorated, wearing short loin cloth knotted at side, with quiver partly visible behind him, retracts right arm and with left hand extends bow, looking toward arrow which pierces back of Lover, wearing feathered cap, looking back over left shoulder.
Both in garden surrounded on three sides by trellis on which are roses.Miniature within architectual frame.
