Infante Alfonso of Castile (?), wearing armor and surcoat with heraldic borders of Castile (gules, a castle or) and LĀ³bon (argent a lion gules), and angel, both kneeling with joined hands raised, flank standing angel, with hands on heads of Alfonso and the kneeling angel. Above, enclosed by rainbow arcs of heaven, is God, wearing imperial (?) crown, seated on throne with right hand raised in blessing and holding cross-surmounted globe in left hand, all enclosed by mandorla of seraphim. In foreground beside Alfonso is helmet.
Miniature enclosed by frame inscribed EGO AUTEN IN TE SPERAUI DOMINE ET DIXIT DOMIMINUS DEUS MEUS ES TU INM (sic).
Amid foliate ornament in margins are two blank escutcheons in upper corners, flanking a human-headed grotesque; bird above putto and hybrid man; and in lower corners, two additional black escutcheons, flanking two nude putti flanking and holding a round object, possibly mariner's wheel or capstan.
Miniature and ornament executed in grisaille and gold tones with color accents.
