Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Archangel Gabriel, holding scepter, kneels before Virgin Mary, nimbed, arms crossed over breast, kneeling at draped prie-dieu before canopy with inscription NOMINE DOMINI. Dove of Holy Ghost, nimbed, emitting rays, hovers above them. Scene within decorated initial R.
In lower margin, dog, on forelegs with hindquarters raised, taunts cat, with back arched and fur on end, amid foliate ornament.
