Cyrus the Great: restoring Vessels (?) -- Within building, beneath tri-lobed arch, man, probably Cyrus the Great, kneels before draped altar. In raised hands he holds, mound of coins at altar. Behind him stand four other men, one holding covered vessel in raised left hand.
Scene on blue patterned background at top of initial I, decorated with foliate ornament and fantastic animal.
Beginning of Ezra (Vulg., I Esdras).
