In initial C, bust of cleric, tonsured, face partially covered, holding open book with both hands (reading ?). Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls; man wearing cap, eyes closed, head on pillow, hands crossed on abdomen, possibly deceased, reclining in lower margin. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 7.22, feast of Mary Magdalen.
