1) Esther: before Ahasuerus -- Esther, crowned, stands next to initial, arms raised toward Ahasuerus, crowned, holding floreate scepter in right hand, seated beneath arch with crenellated top.
2) Haman: hanged -- Below, Haman, blindfolded, wearing loin cloth, his hands behind his back, hangs by his neck from rope.
Scenes against gold background within initial decorated with foliate extenders and animal head.
Beginning of Esther.
