Miniature, column: Malachi, wearing draped headgear, gesturing before three seated men, one wearing turban-like headgear. Scene in hilly landscape with trees. Illustration for First Nocturn and First Lesson of Matins on Saturday in the Fifth Week of November. Initial H enclosing half figure of God, nimbed, crowned, with both hands holding unfurling scroll inscribed ANGELUM, rest illegible or damaged. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by half figures of two prophets, wearing draped headgear or hat, emerging from clouds, holding scrolls inscribed ACCEDA(M) AD UOS and ECCE EGO MITTA(M) (right).
