Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, with crossed nimbus, wearing short loin cloth and crown of thorns, bleeding from wounds in hands, feet, and side, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INRI. The cross is flanked by Virgin Mary, veiled, with joined hands raised, and Evangelist John, with hands raised, both nimbed. Bones on ground. Above, in arc of heaven, is God, with crossed nimbus, emanating rays. Diaper background.
Margins with ivy-rinceaux and foliate ornament, inhabited by five angels holding Instruments of the Passion, including hammer and nails, ladder, column, spear, and sponge on rod.
