Christ: Deposition -- Joseph of Arimathea, wearing turban-like headdress, with purse at waist, with draped hands supports Christ, with rays as nimbus, wearing short loin cloth and crown of thorns, bleeding from wounds, taken down from cross by Nicodemus (?), removing nail from left hand of Christ with pincers. Virgin Mary, veiled, with stars on her head and shoulder, holds right hand of Christ to her mouth. Behind her stands Evangelist John. Man kneels at base of cross with draped hands. Scene in landscape with trees and flowers.
Margins with ivy-rinceaux and foliate ornament.
