Personification, Virtue: Temperance -- Temperance, with clock on her head, stands with arms extended and bridle in her mouth. In right hand she holds reins and in left hand eyeglasses (spectacles). At her feet is windmill. Diapered background. Scene in half-circular vignette in left margin.
Margins with ivy-rinceaux, foliate, and vinescroll ornament.
