Miniature, vignette, left margin: Christ: Parable, Pharisee and Publican -- Pharisee, wearing hat, with joined hands raised, kneeling on pillow, before altar draped with cross-inscribed cross. Behind him, Publican, kneeling on tiled floor. Scene in architectural setting, possibly chapel, with three arched windows and towers in background. Miniature for text read after Twelfth Lesson on Eleventh Sunday after Feast of Trinity (from Luke 18:09). Initial I enclosing winged Evangelist Symbol of Mark (lion), with front paws holding blank scroll, against gold background at beginning of Ninth Lesson of Mark on Twelfth Sunday after Feast of Trinity. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by busts of two men, wearing hats, amid foliage (lower).
