Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard with red and gold pieces on squares lettered A-I for ten moves; diagram numbered 244. To left of board, initial C decorated with scrolling foliate infilling terminating in animal head. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extensions upper part terminating in long-eared, dragon-like hybrid animal biting part of the initial, and lower part on which is dragon-like hybrid animal and perching bird.
