Miniature, column, right: Fabian of Rome, nimbed, wearing cross-surmounted triple crowned papal tiara and vestments, with gloved right hand holding key and with gloved left hand holding staff, standing opposite of Sebastian of Rome, nimbed, wearing wreath of flowers on head and fur-trimmed tunic with belted purse and dagger, with right hand holding bow and with left hand holding three arrows. Figures in room with tiled floor and filigree background. Miniature at beginning of First Lesson on the Feast of Fabian and Sebastian of Rome (01.20). Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, including strawberry, inhabited by lion as bishop, wearing miter with infulae and collar, with tongue protruding (right).
