Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard with twelve red and gold pieces on squares lettered B for twelve moves; diagram numbered 254. To left of board, initial C decorated with scrolling foliate infilling and with foliate ascender. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extensions, upper part terminating in hybrid animal biting frame of board, and lower part on which is perching bird.
