Evangelist Matthew, nimbed, arms crossed on breast, is seated with scroll across his knees. Evangelist symbol (angel), head surmounded by cross, kneels before him, extending inkpot with left hand and pen case with right hand.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including daisy, and inhabited by partially nude woman entwined with serpent (Personification, Vice: Luxury ?), and fantastic animal, possibly dragon, confronting soldier wearing armor, raising sword with both hands.
