Miniature:
Virgin Mary and Christ Child -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, is seated on throne with canopy inscribed AVE MARIA PLENA DOMINUS TECUM, holding with both hands on her lap, Christ Child, cross-nimbed. They are flanked by two angels, one playing lute (?) with plectrum and the other playing harp. Two angels fly above canopy in starry sky.
Medallions in margins from top to bottom:
1) Christ: among Doctors -- Youthful Christ, rays as crossed nimbus, beardless, gesturing, stands among five men, one hooded, two wearing hats, one raising right hand, one holding open book and indicating text, and one holding cross-staff (?). Scene within vaulted room with tile floor.
2) Christ: Miracle of Cana -- Behind draped table on which are plates and bowls containing food, bride, wearing headdress, is seated, flanked by groom, wearing hat, lifting bowl to mouth with right hand and by Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled. In front of table stands servant next to two jars over which Christ, cross-nimbed, extends His right hand.
3) Christ: Miracle of Loaves -- Large group of men sit or stand behind draped table on which are loaves, and plate containing fish. In front of table, Christ, cross-nimbed stands extending right hand over table, holding basket of bread (?) in left hand. Man stands behind Him, with left hand on the basket. Walking stick leans against table.
Margins decorated with floreate ornament including rose and strawberry, and inhabited by birds, satyr with pipe and tabor, centaur, wearing hat, holding shield with left hand and spear (?) with right hand, aiming at bird.
