Evangelist Mark, nimbed, writing with pen in right hand on scroll across his lap, is seated on bench next to cloth of honor, and below window. Evangelist symbol (lion) is seated in doorway before Mark; book shelf on which are open books is above the lion.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament including strawberrys growing out of vase and cornflowers, and inhabited by man seated on lion, raising his right arm and holding upper jaw of lion with left hand (Samson: slaying Lion ?); hybrid dog.
