Christ: Bewailing -- Christ, nimbed, wearing loincloth, with wounds in hand, feet, and side, reclines on lap of Virgin, nimbed, veiled, seated on ground with clasped hands, in front of cross. Beside her at left is Evangelist John (?), nimbed, holding Christ's head with both hands. At right is Mary Magdalen, nimbed, holding ointment jar in both hands. Scene in landscape setting.
Scene within architectural frame, decorated with escutcheon, charged with two keys argent in saltire and between them a triangle of the second. It is flanked by intials P and M.
